Richmond Garden Club partnered with Steveston Harbour Authority in 2018 to refurbish a dozen unloved flower containers on the Steveston boardwalk.  The containers were filled with mostly garbage and a bit of plant material. We replaced soil and added seasonal plants that are happy in a seaside, full sun environment. 

March 2025, we were asked to create 10 more small containers in the parking lot area of the boardwalk. Steveston Harbour Authority asked us to primarily plant native plants. Thanks to Phoenix Perennials we were able to fulfil the native plant requirement.

We are now proudly taking care of 22 concrete containers that have something blooming all year. Thank you to the Steveston Boardwalk Garden Team from Richmond Garden Club!
