Happy 10th anniversary, 2017, Richmond Garden Club for maintaining the beautiful gardens in Paulik Park!

Richmond Garden Club adopted this city-owned park in 2008. Many of our members as well as people from the community help to maintain the perennial gardens of the park.

Paulik Neighbourhood Park is a 6 acre park in the City Centre area which features 1.5 acres of perennial gardens.  While the garden is ever changing through the seasons, it is in its glory in the spring when the many rhododendrons and flowering plants are in full bloom.
The park also includes:
  • Mature woodlot with many native species.
  • Community garden — get out your garden gloves and start planting by contacting the Richmond Food Security Society
  • Memory Garden/Public art — “House of Roots” by Jeanette Lee is inspired by the notions of home and putting down roots
  • Children’s playground—have fun with friends and family

"Richmond Garden Club (and a broader group of gardening enthusiasts) adopted Paulik Park back in 2008. Since then, over 70 volunteers have dedicated many hours of their free time and hard work towards the maintenance and expansion of the gardens.  The personal touches and individual creativity these volunteers bring make this public space a uniqueness which is the envy of other Cities." Ted de Crom, Manager, Park Operations, City of Richmond

Street Address: 7620 Heather Street

Wally Paulik's visit to Paulik Park October 2017

Volunteers, Vidyut, Maureen and Kyo were at the park on a sunny day in October.  Mr. Wally Paulik and his niece came by the park and had a nice chat with the volunteers.
He mentioned about a big vegetable garden they had at the site where our flower beds are now. The Paulik family planted tiny trees they gathered over at the north shore and they became the giant trees we see today.

They enjoyed birthday celebrations of the family members among rhododendron bushes in May. Mr. Paulik and his niece enjoyed the walk in the park.

They thanked all the volunteers for the wonderful job they are  doing in their former homestead.
